AMIS DE GAZA Appel de M.Khatib de Bil’in en vue d’annuler la conférence de l'OCDE
sur le tourisme prévue à Jérusalem (en anglais et en français) Dear, These are hard but important days for us in Palestine. Just yesterday,
my friend and coordinator of the Bil'in Popular Committee Against the Wall
and Settlements, Abdallah Abu Rahmah, was sentenced to a year in prison by an Israeli military court. His sole crime was being an
instrumental part in our village's campaign against the construction of the
wall on our lands. However, we mustn't allow our sadness about Abdallah's incarceration
to stop our work. While Abdallah worked to highlight the expansion of
settlements in the West Bank, Israel also constructs illegal infrastructure
in East Jerusalem. Between the 20th and 22nd of October, almost a week from today, the
Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) plans to hold
its bi-annual tourism conference in Jerusalem - a city whose indigenous
Palestinian residents suffer from systemic discrimination and
expulsion. There is not a moment to lose if we want to change this decision. Despite Israel’s persistent violations of human rights and disregard
for International law, the OECD – whose member countries include the majority
of the world richest countries – granted Israel membership on May 27th of
this year. Tourism plays an important role in Israel’s colonization of occupied
East Jerusalem. The state and right wing settler organizations cooperate in
expelling Palestinians residents from East Jerusalem neighborhoods such as
Silwan and Sheikh Jarrah for the creation of colonies and biblically theme
parks for tourists. Join us in
calling on the OECD to cancel its tourism conference in Jerusalem. Please follow this link to send an email to Angel Gurría, the

International law by canceling the planned OECD tourism conference in

Hier, mon ami et coordinateur du Comité Populaire de Bil'in Contre le Mur et les Colonies, Abdallah Abu Rahmah, a été condamné à un an de prison par un tribunal militaire israélien. Son unique crime était d'être un acteur majeur de la campagne de notre village contre la construction du mur sur nos terres. Cependant, il ne faut pas laisser notre tristesse pour l'incarcération d’ Abdallah, nous empêcher de continuer notre travail. Pendant qu'Abdallah travaillait pour attirer les projecteurs sur l'expansion des colonies dans la Cisjordanie, Israël construisait des infrastructures illégales à Jérusalem Est. Entre le 20 et le 22 octobre, dans presque une semaine, l'OCDE organise sa conférence biannuelle pour le tourisme à Jérusalem - une ville dont les résidents Palestiniens autochtones souffrent de discrimination systémique et d'expulsion. Il n'y a pas un moment à perdre si l'on veut infléchir cette décision. Malgré les violations répétées des Droits de l'Homme par Israël et son indifférence face aux lois internationales, l'OCDE - dont les pays membres incluent la majorité des pays les plus riches sur le globe - a accordé à Israël son adhésion le 27 mai 2010. Le tourisme joue un rôle important dans la colonisation israélienne de Jérusalem Est occupée. L'état et les associations de colons d'extrême droite coopèrent dans l'expulsion des résidents palestiniens des quartiers de Jérusalem Est comme Silwan et Sheikh Jarrah pour les remplacer par des colonies et des parcs d'attraction à thématique biblique destinés aux touristes.
